IBC and September at the RAI

IBC is the yearly meeting point of the broadcast and media world at RAI Amsterdam, a four-day convention that pairs an enormous exhibition floor with a demanding conference programme. Its visitors are professionals from around the globe: broadcasters and streaming services, camera and lens makers, post-production studios, systems integrators and the technology suppliers behind them. September is one of the busiest stretches of the year at the RAI, and IBC is the show that sets the tone.

For us, IBC belongs to the kind of booking we arrange most often. Delegates are in Amsterdam for a fixed handful of days, on their feet from morning to evening in the halls, sleeping in hotels picked for proximity, and rarely keen to cross the city after a full day on the stands. A companion who comes straight to the hotel suits that routine far better than anything that involves another trip.

Where IBC Delegates Sleep

IBC accommodation follows the usual RAI pattern. Hotels directly across from the convention centre on Europaplein are first choice for anyone who wants to walk to the halls. The Zuidas business district, a little to the west, absorbs much of the overflow in its conference hotels. North of the RAI, De Pijp makes a livelier base within easy reach, and further rooms line the Amstel and the streets around RAI station. We cover every one of them; a hotel name is all our coordinators need to plan a prompt arrival.

Fitting a Booking into an IBC Day

Conference days run long, and evenings follow their own pattern of vendor receptions, client dinners and the hospitality that surrounds any big trade show. Our advice follows that rhythm. The busiest window runs from early evening until about midnight on the main show days, so message us a few hours ahead to keep your preferred companion free and close to your hotel before the rush. Outside that window, and earlier in the week, there is more flexibility. As with every RAI event, the roads around Europaplein move slowly under delegate traffic, so a little warning keeps the arrival within 45 to 60 minutes. WhatsApp our team with your hotel, the time and the length of booking you would like.

Four days of exhibition stands and conference sessions take their toll. What follows in the evening should feel effortless: private, unhurried and delivered to your hotel door, with no extra journey across town.

Who Comes to IBC

Nearly everyone at IBC is there for work: broadcasters, suppliers and media-tech specialists on a tight timetable.

When the exhibitor badge goes back in the bag, an evening companion is a simple way to leave the show floor behind.

Straight to Your Hotel

After a full day walking the RAI halls, most delegates want nothing more than their own room and a calm evening.

An outcall keeps everything there: no taxi line, no trip across town and nothing to organise.

Client Dinners and Receptions

IBC week comes with a social calendar of its own, from vendor parties to hospitality suites and dinners with customers.

A well-spoken companion who fits that setting is a common request; ask for a dinner date, three hours for EUR 540, when you book.

Discretion for Delegates

Conference hotels see constant arrivals during IBC, so one more visitor goes entirely unnoticed.

On top of that, we keep no records once a booking ends and never contact you afterwards.

Evening Traffic Around Europaplein

During the show, streets near the RAI slow down under delegate traffic, especially when the halls empty in the evening.

Reserve a little ahead and we position a companion near your hotel before the roads clog.

The Wider South of the City

IBC delegates spread across southern Amsterdam, from the RAI hotels to the nearby Zuidas towers.

Wherever you are staying, booking takes one WhatsApp message to the same small team.

Questions

What IBC delegates usually want to know before booking a companion. Anything we have missed? WhatsApp our team at whatever hour suits you.

What is IBC and who goes to it?+

IBC is a major international convention for the broadcast, media and entertainment-technology industry, held every September at RAI Amsterdam. Over four busy days it attracts broadcasters, production specialists, technology suppliers and media executives from many countries, and almost all of them are business travellers.

Which hotels can you reach for IBC delegates?+

Every type of accommodation delegates use: the hotels opposite the RAI on Europaplein, the Zuidas conference hotels to the west, the properties in De Pijp to the north and the hotels along the Amstel and near RAI station. Send us the hotel name and we arrange a quick, discreet arrival.

How early should I book during IBC week?+

For the busiest window, roughly from early evening until midnight on the main show days, reserve a few hours ahead so we can keep your chosen companion free. Earlier in the week and outside those hours there is more room for short notice, though a little warning always helps.

Can a companion come with me to an IBC reception or client dinner?+

Yes. IBC week is full of vendor parties, customer dinners and hospitality evenings, and a poised, articulate companion is a frequent request. Ask for a dinner date or a social booking, tell us the venue and the dress code, and she will arrive ready.

How discreet is the service for conference guests?+

Completely. Conference hotels have a constant stream of arrivals during IBC, so a visitor blends in easily. We delete client details once the booking ends and never get in touch afterwards, and your companion comes across as just another guest.

Do prices go up during IBC?+

No. One hour costs EUR 180, a three-hour dinner date EUR 540 and an eight-hour overnight EUR 1,250, exactly as in any other week. There is no event premium and no extra charge for hotels in the RAI district.
